When I re-installed Outlook, all my e-mails from Outlook Express .

I installed Microsoft Office Student and Teacher Edition 2003 some weeks ago
without a hitch. All my e-mails from outlook express transfered to my new
Outlook. Somehow, after a shutdown, Outlook was replaced with my old Outlook
Express, but all the e-mails from when I first installed to the shutdown
dissappeared, although I could get new e-mails. After a week, I tried to
re-install Microsoft Office and sure enough, Outlook re-imerged with all the
previously lost e-mails, but not the new e-mails sent and received over that
week. They were still in Outlook Express (I had access to both). When I
re-started the computer the next day and no longer had access to Outlook
Express, I once again no longer had access to any of the e-mails I sent and
received over that week. How can I get them? I can't find them on my C drive
anywhere???

Do a search for .DBX files; if you're using either Windows 2000 or Windows
XP, the files will be Hidden and you'll need to adjust Folder Options
(Windows 2000) and/or the search tool to find Hidden/System files. Once you
find them, you can use Outlook's 'File|Import and Export|Import from another
program or file' feature to import the Outlook Express email. Note that you
must have both Outlook and Outlook Express installed on the same machine in
order to transfer data between the two.
