One of our users has this problem. After she merges access data into word
(both are 2000), she loses some charaters like degree sign. Instead of that
charater is a space. How can we fix it?

Hi Msnews,

You might try using an ODBC connection, instead of DDE and see if that brings
the character(s) across. Activate the "Select method" checkbox in the Open
Datasource dialog box. You'll get a dialog box with a list of valid
connection methods, choose ODBC.

If the data is in a query, click "Options" in the following dialog box and
activate "Views" to add queries to the list of tables.

If this doesn't help, I'd appreciate a list of the characters for which it
doesn't work so that I can do some testing.

And so that the user can get on with her work, have her try copying the
table or query result in Access, then pasting it into a Word document. She
should get a Word table. She can save this document and use it as a data
source. Word should have no problems picking up any characters in a table in
a Word document.
