loosing internet connection on client PCs

have a LAN,

host PC connected to the internet, no problem with browsing on host,

2 clients PC have on and off internet connectivity, problem with browsing,
webpages do not load, then suddenly they do, emails cannot be received then
suddenly they can, instants messengers will connect to internet and stay
connected, unless i try to connect when the browser does not connect, then
the IM does not connect,

i have turned off all firewalls, spyware detectors, anti virus, so this is
not a problem,

at the same time file sharing works, i have also just noticed if i do a bit
of browsing on the shared files from a client PC, the internet connectivity
comes back,

any ideas how i can stop this from happening?

Could be a problem with computers having the same IP number or the
link being saturated. Also check you have the appropriate services
enabled.
