loop until next slide

In slideshow mode, upon entering a specific slide, I'd like to have several
"scrolling marquee" animations automatically start and loop continuously
until i click (or hit page down or right arrow or whatever), in which case
i'd like it to just advance to the next slide.

i've tried everything i could find in effect options>timing tab>repeat
dropdown. what happens there is either the animation stops on click ('until
next click' option), or it jumps to the end of the animation (when told to
'repeat x number of times') or it starts looping again inexplicably (when
'until end of slide' is chosen).

the problem seems to be related to the fact that i'm using "entrance" and
"exit" effects to achieve the marquee, since it seems to work on "emphasis"
effects.

anyway, is there an easy way to either fix this, or reprogram the down-arrow
key or something so it forces it to advance to the next slide rather than
control an animation?

thanks,

It's really annoying isn't it. I hope the powers that be at microsoft introduce a few new "repeat" effects.

- I'd like an option to repeat but totally ignore any key or mouse clicks.
- A bit like the "continue slideshow" with movie files.

A quick workaround to your problem is to set it to repeat 9999 times, then "YOU" know you have to press the
mouse/keyboard TWICE to advance to the next slide.
