Ok - That's good to know -- somehow I missed it.

A related question is: Suppose a subform lets a user select multiple
choices from a defined/limited list of several, but I don't want the user to
select the same choice more than once.

How do I keep duplicate records from being entered in this situation? Would
an multiple-key index do this as well?

I would approach a "no more than once" situation using a table index. It
would not have to be a primary key index, just unique.
