Hello,

I am looking for an online, web-based email service that will allow me
do the following things automatically:

1) Filter incoming emails by subject line.

2) Set up some kind of script that will remove a portion of the email
body. Specifically I want to remove some characters at the end.

3) Forward that email to another email account.

I know it's a stretch but thanks for your help.

Thanks!

Your request has nothing to do with freeware!

I think of free, web email as freeware. Technically you are correct,
it is not. My bad.

However, I still hope that someone can help me out.

Thanks!
Web Mail is considered Webware, so what you are looking for is Free
Webware not Freeware!

Could be Spyware trying to hijack you. Download, install, update and run all
of the following.

Ad-Aware
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

Spybot search and destroy
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/

Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware (Beta)
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx

If none of the above fixes the issue then download Hijack this, run it, save
a copy of the log file and cut and paste it back here to the group so that
it can be analyzed.

Web Mail is considered Webware, so what you are looking for is Free
Webware not Freeware!

Why is Free Webware (or indeed Free AnythingElse-ware) not also Freeware?

I ask as an honest question and not in argument.

I'm with you,a prominent member (unnamed)of this group once tried to
make a distinction between them. You could say they are two distict
entities but not mutually exclusive,in my book anyway!

"Software: the instructions executed by a computer. In theory software does not include the data
processed by the instructions. In practice a combination of instructions and data is often called
software."

Ware means software. Free fonts, free services etc. etc. etc. that are not software are generally
regarded as off-topic in ACF. Webware is on-line software. AFAICT most people in ACF regard Webware
as on-topic. The PWH site has a Webware page.

In years past some Webware was selected as Pricelessware (Google was one such selection). That's
changed - the current Pricelessware rules do not allow the nomination or selection of Webware.

FWIW - IMO it's often difficult to draw the line between on-line software and on-line services.
on-line information, etc.

Thanks for that helpful reference.

BTW, I must apologise for asking the question which was the result of my
hasty mis-reading of the original request. I had mis-read that vbMark was
looking for a web client which could perform certain selection functions
but I now see that my previous understanding was entirely incorrect.
