although God only knows why anybody would want that program. It's

Alas, the name of the zip file suggests, though, that it's
Sidekick 98 (the version that the OP already has).

It's screwed up every system I've tried it on.

Dunno; I've run it since 1998 -- cover disk thing -- and never
had a problem.

Mind you, I use very few of its features -- just the address
books and the world clock feature -- so maybe it's the diary
stuff that's less stable.

I'd suggest that that is 'operator error' ...... every system I have
used it on (sidekick95 and 98) for the last 10 years has worked
flawlessly. But then, you don't use or comment on PAYWARE, do you JC ?

Actually, SK was often a problem, even back from its early DOS days. It
was a TSR and would conflict with lots of things. When Win 95 came
along, it didn't handle TSR's much better than DOS so still a lot of
conflicts. Win 98 handled these much better and during the interim, SK
was being better programmed.

No, it wasn't operator error. Simply starting the program after
installing it would lock up my computer and cause file damage. But to be
fair, that was only with one version and frankly, I've never had need of
such a program anyway.

But then, you don't use or comment on PAYWARE, do you JC ?

I use many payware programs. However, talking about them in this group
makes no sense unless it's in the context of describing features that
one would like to see in a freeware program.
