Hello Group,

I am new to Windows XP. Had Windows 98SE on my old machine. I also had
Clean Sweep 97 a good monitoring program. Then Norton bought the rights to
it. I have installed Clean Sweep 97 on XP, and it won't run. I used
InControl 5, and Clean Sweep 97. InControl 5 still works. I am wondering
if there is a Freeware Program that works like Clean Sweep 97? It will
monitor the installation of programs, and remove the entire program later
if you want to.

Thank to ell for any help on this matter.

Look at this one. It seems to work well. Not as fast as
Cleansweep was under 98SE but, XP is a bit more complex.
There is payware version if you want somewhere else.

Thank you for telling me about Total Uninstall. I have downloaded it.
However I can't get it to install on my Windows XP Home Edition system.
I get the error message

Setup.exe - Application Error

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK
to terminate the application.

I have downloaded it from 3 different places, and it won't work for me.
Would anyone have any ideas as to why it won't work. I am new to XP.

Thanks for the help

My favorite was Remove-It, but that was abandoned after all their
acquisitions in favor of Cleansweep.
