I need one that has the option to increase the font size. Never understood
why you can do that in browsers, but not in Windows Explorer.

Have you considered a CLI file manager? Size wouldn't be adjustable,
but the text would be larger.

Well, there IS a way to change the font in Explorer, but it's so well
hidden it's no wonder I couldn't find it.

Control Panel>Display>Appearance>Item

Select "Icon" from the drop down box, and near the bottom is a font
setting. For some strange reason, this changes the font in Explorer,
Control Panel and other Windows applications.

Very strange, but it works.

I'd still like another app, as Explorer doesn't work well at all on this
computer (WinME)

I have it. It doesn't.

Powerdesk. I believe it might be priceless? (www.pricelessware.org)

PowerDesk (registerware: name and email) (liteware) OS: Win9x/NT
(English) PowerDesk provides you with single or dual pane file
management windows, a powerful file finder, zip and unzip capabilities
plus many other features. Author/Home Page: VCOM

are you talking about another web browser when you say explorer
alternative like www.netscape.com or www.avant.com ? Those are both free
browsers and the avant comes with a free pop up blocker automatically.

No, actually, the OP was looking for a "windows" explorer replacement, I
believe.

for example.
