Looking for a solution

I am use to using PPT, normally with a projector. I know that you can
display two different things on the two screens. What I am looking for is
the ability to have different panels on the displayed screen. For example I
want to be able to have a section of the screen to display vital signs, one
area to show symptoms, and third showing an EKG rhythm. Maybe have more
sections, time will tell. I need to be able to change it on the laptop and
the change displayed on the projected image, without the mechanics being
seen on the projected screen.

I don't know if PPT is the best option. If someone is aware of another piece
of reasonably priced software that will do the job please let me know.

Thank you for your thoughts.

Do the panels need to navigate independent of each other? You can place the
data of the panels on the slide itself if the panels all navigate together
always. If they need to navigate independently, look at Ticker Show feature
of PowerShow that allows you to have multiple slide shows on a single
monitor using a layout that you specify. More details on Ticker Show is
available at http://officeone.mvps.org/powershow/powershow_ticker_show.html
