I need a free utility to clean out the registry, the
smaller and simpler the better.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Brian,

Why? They can be dangerous, and really don't do that much - highly
overrated. All they really do is remove that which is being ignored anyways,
and sometimes they remove that which is not being ignored (and that is
another whole set of problems). Unless you are actually encountering a
problem that is registry related, I suggest you leave it alone. If you are
thinking that keeping the registry small is a good idea, sort of like a
Win98 system, then you should know that the registry in a WinXP system works
very differently and size (contrary to popular belief) doesn't matter.
