Looking at Western Digital Rapter (WD360)

But I've been reading about the WD360, the 10,000 RPM Serial ATA drive. It
benches right along with a Quantum Atlas Ulta160 SCSI drive in througput and
seek time. I really want to try this drive out, but I'm worried about
reliability. I have heard of at least 5 incidents over the past couple
years of Western Digital drives crapping out after less than a year in
service. Me and a couple friends have been staying away from them for this
reason. Has WD made their drives reliable again or was it a fluke to start
with?

Just the usual mindless stuff. That happens with any
drive manufacturer. And most of their drives dont fail.

Mad.

Has WD made their drives reliable again

They werent unreliable in the first place.
or was it a fluke to start with?

Yep. The technical term is 'pathetically inadequate sample'
