64bit is obviously the future, and the hardware manufacturers are eager to
get us all to upgrade to the next level.. that is how they make their
money, after all.. however, I am not convinced that 'now' is a good time
to upgrade.. support for 64bit will get better, but is still very much in
its infancy..
For more on Longhorn..

Longhorn will install on older computers.. it may not have the complete
feature set of the latest and greatest hardware, but it will still
essentially be Longhorn.. during install, Longhorn will decide what
features the detected hardware can support, and will install accordingly..
I would imagine that any hardware upgrades made to a system will enable
more features to be added..
As yet, it is difficult to say what features may or may not be available..
we will have to wait and see..
In the meantime, 32bit is alive and well, and will continue in this way
for some time to come..
