longhorn media center edition?

i have an HP notebook running winXP Media Center Edition
2004 and i am wondering what will happen to me when
longhorn is released in (hopefully) 2006. will there be a
longhorn media center edition to allow me to retain the
MCE functionality? If i want longhorn will I have to get
3rd party software to make the MCE hardware components do
anything? it seems like this will be the first major
windows update where not everyone is coming from the same
spot, and therefore deserves the same features in the new
OS. although it doesnt concern me persoanlly, i raise the
same question for TabletPC users.

thanks
jake

Jake;
Media Center and Tablet PC are currently available through the OEM
only.
You need to contact them at the appropriate time to check on
availability of Longhorn or whatever it is called at that time.
Since they are OEM, you will most likely not be able to get them from
Microsoft directly.

However since Longhorn is about two years away, much can change.

By that time you will need a new laptop anyway. What will and will not work
with a laptop is dependent to a very great extent on what the laptop OEM is
willing to provide in terms of the specialized drivers unique to the laptop.
