When i boot up my XP Home Ed computer, i get to the
welcome screen, have to wait ages, then progress to the
desktop with just the taskbar and the wallpaper visible
(no icons, no i haven't turned them off)and no explorer
applications work. Anti-virus software and other non-
explorer applications like media player do work, just not
explorer things like my compuer/control panel etc.
Eventually, the icons do appear and explorer does work,
but the time i have to wait is insanely long, especially
seeing as Task Manager (which does work) reports 1 or 2%
CPU usage during this time period.
This only started recently without me installing anything
new, and AVG anti-virus doesn't find anything wrong!
Please could someone tell me what's wrong here?!?! Why do
I have to wait soooo long?!?!
Thank you,
