Hello everybody,
I think I have found the root cause of the problem. The moment I
disconnected the installed USB-IDE convertor, the system started
working fine. The USB-IDE convertor supports USB 2.0 and my system
does has USB2.0 ports.
I am thinking is it due to windows limiation in the maximum # of
primary partitions which is causing this problem. I have 2 HDD with
each having at least 2 of them. Somewhere I have read that the maximum
# of primary partitions which windows allows is 4. If this is correct,
than USB-IDE becomes 5th on my system causing it to misbehave.
Pl. advise.
