long hyperlinks don't open in html emails

Hi,
I've got this annoying problem: I'm getting lots of newsletters in html
format and some links in the message won't open. When I hover with the mouse
over a link embedded in a button or some other symbol or picture within the
message I get popup of the actual url and I've noticed that it's the long
hyperlinks that don't work; if the url is short-ish, browser opens the link
without problems.
I hope you can shed some light on this.

If you have used more than one browser this can affect your
opening hyperlinks, same as popup prevention software. Most of the
time you can fix this by going to start > set programs access and
defaults > click on microsoft > then apply settings
 
Hi,
I've tried that but no luck. I had settings there on Custom, I reversed to
Microsoft and Ok, but no change. Went back to Set Program Access and
Defaults and it was back on custom, tried that couple of times, the same,
reverts back to custom and problem with links remains.
