whenever I write a longish email, it truncates to about one third of the
original size - i.e. more than half of it disappears when it is sent,
although the messgae remains complete in my Sent Items.

at a loss - help, please.

thank you

Dear Pipdev.

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this one, it goes right back to Windows
98.

There's a send size limit in Outlook and Outlook Express. It won't send
anything greater than that size. BUT it will store anything of any size. So
you get the dichotomy of big messages being saved but not being sent. I think
it was originally because large messages clogged up the system, they've just
forgotten to take that out now the system's faster (dontcha just live
Microsoft!)

You should be OK using Hotmail online to send stuff, I've sent virtual
novels via Hotmail and there's no size reduction.

There is no limit! Only the used provider might have a size limit for
outgoing mails.

Hi both Chris and Christian

thank you for your helpful replies - I had it going around in my mind form
way-back-when that there had been a size limit.

Problem did resolve itself, however: down to the ISP having a glitch !

thanks for the tip about Hotmail, too.
