Hello,

I am new to Word 2007 (WordPerfect convert) and I write engineering books.
The books are generally 200-300 pages with numerous equations and plots (each
chapter is 15-20 pages). In WordPerfect I could create a master and sub
documents. How would I do something like this in Word 2007. I really don't
want all the pages in one file. I of course have cross-references, indexes,
etc.

thanks in advance,
mitch

Don't use the Master Document feature. Although you can maintain the
chapters in separate documents, in most cases this is not necessary or
desirable. It is much easier to handle TOC, index, cross-references, etc.,
in a single file.
