Logs on then immediately logs off

Hi,

My WinXP has gone thru a lot lately but it generally works fine.
However, after a long trip, when it was jogged around a bit, it has not
booted since. Well, it boots to the welcome screen then immediately
logs off and returns to the welcome screen.

It works ok in Safe mode, per se. I tried adding a new user but that
just doesn't matter.

I hope this is an easy fix

Well, thanks for the thought but I tried and it didn´t work.

I´ll keep investigating but if anyone has some more ideas...
