logon to a specific ad controller

Toni Ghatta

I have a dmz and wan. In my dmz I have an isa srver in a
site the same as 2 adc's. I do not want my isa server
authenticating with an adc from another site. I have setup
ad sites and services but am not sure this will stop cross
wan ad authentication.

Is there a registry key to state which adc by name or ip
address to use. Netbios is disabled on the isa server.

Thanks

Toni

If you have DCs and GCs at both sites, and have correctly configured Sites
and Services, the DCs wont go across the WAN unless they can't access the
local ones.

You can (almost) force clients to use a specific DC by modifying the
weighting of DCs, but generally this isn't recommended. If you desire that
a machine at siteA only logs on at siteA ensure sites and services are fine
and that DNS is functioning and you'll be fine.
