Logon takes long time

Johan Hommes

Hi,
I installed a win2000 adv. server at the school I work at.
When I try to logon a user from an XP pro workstation it
takes minutes before the personal settings are loaded.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanx.

I'd check the dns on the DC to be sure that it was working ok and the SRV
records were there, and then that the client was pointed to that dc for dns.
The client (every xp or 2k machine for that matter) should be able to ping
your domain name as well as the <servername>.<domainname>.com (edu, org,
etc)
