Logon problem with SP2

Allen

I tried to migrate the XPe project from SP1 to SP2.

Once I built it in SP2 and ran the FBA, I got into the window Logon
screen with the reminder of pressing "Ctrl + Alt + Del" to logon,
which is only available once you join the domain back to in SP1.

But the real problem is that I can't logon no matter how I tried now
in SP2. I always got the feedback dialog saying "The system cannot log
you on due to the following error: The specified domain either does
not exist or could not be contacted. Please try again or consult your
system administrator", any clue about what happened?

Hi Allen. Please check your HAL component (Standard PC, Advanced Power and
Configuration Interface PC, ACPI Multiprocessor PC, etc.) and see what your
computer identification settings are. Is your runtime set up to join a
domain? You might also try clearing the Computer Name field in the HAL
component (if a name is set - otherwise, try giving the computer a specific
name), and see if that helps.

Hello Matt:

Thanks for your help. Your suggestion works. I set the workgroup to
empty and the computer name to other name for the "Advanced
Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) PC" component. Then the logon
is working fine now! Why does only changing the name make such a
difference? The default values were all set to "USER", shouldn't we
follow the default values?
