Hi,

You likely installed the .net framework. It creates a new user account and
causes the autologon to cease. Start/run "control userpasswords2" (without
the quotes).

Uncheck the box requiring a username and password, click apply/ok and follow
the prompts to set up a default logon.

Alternatively, to retain the Welcome screen but have only the one
associated user, so it progresses without having to click an icon, Use
TweakUI - one of the XP Powertoys from (if you have installed XP SP1)
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

If you have not installed SP1, the earlier version can be found at
http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe

Once installed you will find it in Start - All Programs - Powertoys for
Windows XP

In its Logon page, uncheck 'Show ASPNET on Welcome screen' - leaving
just your own name checked
