I have 3 computers on my home network. I cannot access one of these
computers. When I try to access it I get the following error message:

"\\(computer name) is not accessible. You might not have permission to use
this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out
if you have access permission. Logon failure: The user has not been granted
the requested logon type at this computer"

I can ping the computer from my other computers.
The hard drive (c:) is setup as shared.

Any help would be most appreciated.
I have disabled Windows Firewall.
I use McAfee 2007 and disabled its firewall.
I can access my other computers on the network from the computer.
The computer is not a server.
The computer runs XP Home Edition and is setup the sameway another computer
that I use that also runs XP Home Edition.

Two points help you understand the problem. The everyone group does Not
include the 'guest' group and you are logging on as a guest (not a user with
an account on That machine.) Your shares on that machine are set to
'everyone'.
Hopefully, this makes the two approaches more obvious. Create an identical
account on that machine or include the exterior account in the share.

(Handling shares on Home requires booting to Safe Mode -- F8 on restart)

Thank you. I'm begiining to understnad. I logged on in safe mode, but don't
know what to do next. That is, how do I handle the shares in safe mode?

I also don't understand how to setup an identical account on my other
machines.

I also don't understand why this happens on one computer with Home XP and
not another.

Thanks for your help.
