logon failure after workgroup

We had a 2000 profess. computer added to our group that
came from another group within the university. To
interact with the other 4 networked computers I added our
workgroup as this one showed no existing workgroup. After
the change and no warnings, and the reboot. We cannot
logon. I see on one document that if there was a domain
in place adding a workgroup may disable the accounts. If
so is there anyway to logon to undo the change and get rid
of the domain? Logon locally is not coming up and may
have been disabled.

If a) you still need this computer to belong to the domain (so the user with
the cached credentials can log in & use his/her profile), take the computer
back to the network where the domain is, and ask the domain admin to rejoin
it to the domain. He or she will need to know the local administrator
credentials in order to do this.
