logon dialogue screen

I just installed Win2K Pro on a friend's computer. When I set it up there
was no logon dialogue. The dialogue box would flash up during the boot, but
was inactive. There was no password or user name to logon with. Now
several days later, the machine is asking for a user name and password. No
one knows why this started to happen. (or admits to knowing why). How can
we get past this and get windows to boot? I assume that installing windows
over windows will not solve the problem. TIA PaulG

Logon as "administrator", then enter the password that you specified
when setting up your friend's computer. There was a point when it
asked you for this password. You either left the password field blank,
or you typed a password. You then clicked "Next". Without you clicking
"Next" at that stage, the installation process would not have moved on.

Thanx, all fixed.

Logon as "administrator", then enter the password that you specified

asked you for this password. You either left the password field blank,
or you typed a password. You then clicked "Next". Without you clicking
