Hi, any advice as to how I might create a new template from normal.dot with a
logo located in the right hand margin, centred vertically.

To put a logo anywhere on the page, open the header or footer and add the
logo. It can be anywhere on the page, not just within the header or footer
area. But you should create a new template for this. Don't use normal.dot.

Hi Rayc

Follow the instructions at
Creating a Template - The Basics (Part I)
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/CreateATemplatePart1.htm

If you need further advice, see
Creating a Template (Part II)
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/CreateATemplatePart2.htm

In your template, use File > Page Setup > Layout to set the template to have
"Different first page" headers and footers.

In the first page header, insert your logo and drag it into position.
(No-one said headers had to be at the top of the page!)

Hope this helps.

You may need to change the wrapping on the logo from In Line With Text to
Square, Tight, In Front of Text, or Behind Text (whichever seems to work
best).

Hi Jezebel,
Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier, but many thanks for your tip, it
works fine.
