Logitech MouseWheel stopped working

Running Win 2000 Pro, been using the same Logitech Optical WheelMouse for
about a year; all of sudden the scroll wheel stops working in all of the
applications. I've tried new drivers from Logitech, I even bought a new
mouse, but the problem persists.

You haven't detailed what you've done already so here are some basic
suggestions.
1. Control Panel -> Mouse -> Hardware tab -> Advanced Settings tab -> Wheel
Detection = Assume wheel is present

2. ... -> Hardware tab -> Driver -> Uninstall.
*Make sure you are comfortable navigating Windows without a mouse as this
will effectively remove the mouse from your system. The next time you start
W2k the mouse should be detected as new hardware and the default PS/2 driver
installed. If it does not, run the add hardware wizard and it should be
picked up.

I hope this helps.

Thank you for checking in!

I have done both of those things; I have also uninstalled the mouse and
bought a new one and reinstalled with Windows drivers and no difference. Yes
it detects the mouse, and "Assume wheel is present" is the setting, but still
no response in any application. Is there anything in the registry that would
over-ride the default settings?
Any other questions for me or suggestions would be appreciated. This missing
scroll is getting tiring.
