We are running a lab with 25 stations with windows 2000
service pack 4. About a month ago we installed office xp
and imaged all of the machines at that time, using Ghost.
We ran for several weeks and various people were
successful in login. Starting this week we starting have a
problem with users not being about to create a new user
profile if they had never login to that computer before.
Something to due with creating a default user in the
documents and settings folder, also involved is a folder
and files called PC health. Tried copy that file from
another and adding to defective station--now neither
station works. Now we have 4 stations that are showing
this problem.

Was the image just ghosted, or was it created using sysprep first before
ghosting?
Really need a bit more information here to be helpful, such as the errors in
the event logs (there would probably be some event 1000's in the application
log). Also whatever error msg they get when they try to logon and have the
problem.
You mentioned this was a lab, but are these machines also part of a domain
and the users logging on with domain accounts, or are they just individual
machines in a workgroup setting?
Is there a Default User folder in the doc/settings folder?
Also more info about whatever the "pc health" is.
thanks
