Login/Shut-down Screen Changed after upgrade to .Net

I updated .Net from the Microsoft site last night and I booted this morning
and all my login and screen operations have changed. I used to go right to
the desktop but now at boot-up
a.) I get the login welcome screen where I have to select my name before
going to the desktop.1.1
b.) The shutdown menu that used to be switch user, turn-off or restart now
looks like the professional edition shutdown where I have to pick from a
drop down menu
c.) Atl-Ctrl-Del used to take me right to the task manager app, now I get
this pop-up window with six options: lock computer , task manager, change
password, log-off, shut-down and cancel.

Please can someone tell me how to get back to normal start-up and shut-down
screens. I've done a search but can't seem to find anything or maybe I'm
just not searching with the right phrase.

Let's take them one at a time:

First, enable the Welcome Screen.
Go to Start -> Control Panel and double click User Accounts.
Click "Change the way users log on or off".
Put a check mark in the box next to "Use the Welcome Screen"
and "Use Fast User Switching".
Hit the "Apply Options" button.
Close User Accounts.

Next, to logon automatically with your user account, do the
following:

Go to Start -> Run.
Copy and paste the following into the Open box:

control userpasswords2

Click OK.
Uncheck "Users must enter a user name and password to use this
computer".
In the box that pops up, replace Administrator in the "User
Name" box with your user account. Enter your password twice.
Note: You can leave the password box blank if your account does
not have a password.
Click OK twice and reboot to see if you get the desired
results.

Good luck

It seems your account settings might have changed somehow. They're simple
changes so don't worry...

*Start -> Control Panel -> User Accounts -> (Click)Change the way users log
on and off -> (Check)Use the Welcome Screen (and) Use Fast User Switching

This will make your computer back to "normal".

Thank you both for the quick reply everything is back to normal. Why would
..NET change these settings without alerting the user somehow? I don't even
know what it's used for but I installed it becasue I got tired of windows
update barking at me to install it.
