Login Scritp Help

Windows 2003 domain with XP clients.
Basic .bat login scripts set in AD

I am using the login script to map drives as well as
install some basic software. It works fine.

My problem is i would like to exclude computers from
installation of the software that are in a child domain
that i do not manage.

Anyone know of how to write this in the login
script? Something like an "if computer is a member of
domain" statement?

Yes, I withdraw my commnet. I was thinking users not machines.

I think you will need to provide more information for useful ideas.
What is unique to each of the two groups? Logon domain? Sub-net?
Computername? In order to exclude/include, one must have a datum on
which to base the exclusion/inclusion. That's as far as I can guess
at the moment.

The discussion of IFMEMBER led us astray, I think, as the issue is which
domain the computer belongs to, now which group it might belong to. That
said, and as Mark suggests, there may be other (possibly simpler) ways to
determine whether or not a particular system should be exempt from software
installations. We use a naming convention to exempt servers, for example,
but there are lots of other possibilities, some of which might already exist
in your organization.
