login problems

I just had to rebuild my computer. The only component left from the old unit
was the harddrive, which was not damaged. No changes were made to the
settings during the rebuild. But now I can't login into the user accounts
established before the crash. And XP is telling me i am denied access to any
of the data under those accounts. I was able to login to one account, and
make a new user account under the same. how do i get access to the accounts
that were there before the crash?

What is a 'rebuild' by your definition?

Did you perform a repair installaiton or a parallel installation or a clean
installation or Windows XP?

As far as getting to the files/folders:

How to Take Ownership of a File or Folder in Windows XP

Read *carefully* - do not just skim the page and start following steps.
There is important information there dependent on the version of Windows XP
