Login problems to host server

I have had no luck logging into my host server to edit my webpages.
Generally, I open my website in Explorer, and then click the FrontPage edit
icon in the menu bar, which automatically launches FrontPage, and the server
asks for my login credentials. On my old machines (running Win98SE and WinME
and FrontPage 2000), this was no probem.

Since I've purchased a new machine with XP Home and also upgraded to
FrontPage 2003, this process fails when I enter my login information. The
login screen comes back to me, but in the Login field it adds my website's
URL and a \ plus my Login name.

Is there some setting on my computer in the operating software that does not
let me use FP2003 with XP Home? I know that my server adminstrator has FP
extensions loaded, so I don't know what the deal is.

Thanks for any help someone may provide for me.

Thanks for the reply. I tried that, and FP won't let me do that, either. I
have not stored the web locally; I edit it "live" on the server, as it is
backed up multiple times throughout the day. Any other ideas?

Open FP
Then use File Open Site and enter your URL in the format as:
http://www.yoursitename.com/

That got me a step closer, as the computer returned a message saying
"connecting with server". However, the login screen came back to me again,
with the URL inserted before my login name with a backslash inbetween. Any
other ideas?

Did you delete and type in the correct information? That should replace the
old method you were using the correct username/password combo.
