Login credentials issue

I can't get a freshly imaged system to resolve a username(any username in
fact!) in Exchange 5.5/Outlook. I can "ping" the mail server from the command
prompt and I get a reply but, I get an error message that reads "Log-in
credentials supplied are incorrect. Make sure your username, domain are
correct and...blahblahblah" The user can login and read mail from his old
workstation and he's logging in the same mail system. It seems the Exchange
server is not allowing the new client workstation to access the server???
Why???

If you can prove that the operating system can resolve the DNS name of the
Exchange Server, you may want to try posting this question in an
Office/Outlook group and/or an Exchange group. These groups may be
better-suited to provide you with an answer.
