Login as administrator

I am the only user. I have software which says that I should log in as administrator before installing. The only way that I know to get an option to select administrator is to boot into safe mode. In safe mode, the monitor is in less than VGA mode. I get a message that the software requires VGA to load. How do I login as administrator without going through safe mode

Go to Control Panel | User Accounts and choose your
account. Click 'change my account type' and if 'limited
is chosen, choose 'computer administrator' and reboot
