I have just purchased WinXP Home Ed, installed with success but the screen to log in has locked me out. I have not entered a password for user but yet I can't enter a password to get in.

What can I do to be able to login? XP access denied. The only thing I've entered was the Product Key# when asked. How can I resolve this so my son can use XP?
 
Boot the computer into Safe Mode. Press F8 between the BIOS POST screen, and XP actually starting to load. The timing can be tricky so keep trying. Once you enter Safe Mode, you'll see the built-in Administrator on the Welcome Screen.
