Logging to ADS from win2000 prof.

Dear all,

I have a win2K server with ip 192.168.0.1 / 24. whenever I
login to the domain from w2k prof. it takes 30min to logon
to the domain. If i specify 192.168.0.1 as primary or
secondary DNS address in the client, then the logon is
normal, but I am not getting internet.
If I remove 192.168.0.1 from DNS and give only the public
dns address, i am able to browse. I have tried giving dns
address(192.168.0.1) as primary & secondary ...

please help me in solving this issue..

Thanks & Regards,
Jyothidas M

I might suggest a couple of things:

1) all internal clients ( workstations, servers, Domain Controllers )
*****-M U S T -***** point only to Internal DNS Servers - preferably those
that supports dynamic updates and SRV records,
2) the only place for any external DNS information ( such as the DNS
information from your ISP ) is in the Forwarders tab in the DNS MMC, which
is only available when you delete the '.' zone in the FLZ

HTH,

Cary
