I am in the process of installing an updated Canon printer
driver for XP. The instructions state I need to go into
safe mode, log on as administrator, then restart the
computer, and when the computer restarts, go into Windows
and install the driver. The question is: When I restart
the computer after I have logged on as administrator, does
the computer remain logged on as administrator even though
I am being instructed to restart the computer after I have
done so? This is confusing me!!

I bet the instructions just "mean" you need to be a computer administrator
to install.

All accounts are logged off when the machine shuts down
during a restart.
Those directions are most confusing.
Log into safe mode just to restart ? But you had to do a
restart just to get into safe mode.
I am left wondering whether you are dealing with some
directions that are most excellent in their original Japanese,
but which were translated by some really second rate biglots.
