Is it possible to get Windows Mail to remember your e-mail address but not
the password?

Tools | Accounts | <account name> | Properties | Servers tab
remove the password and uncheck Remember password.

Thanks but I had tried this. If I uncheck 'Remember password', my user name
(e-mail address) doesn't show either. If I check 'Remember credentials' my
user name & password are both shown automatically. Am I doing something wrong?

The Windows Security Logon asks for User Name & Password & has a box to check
labelled 'Remember my credentials'. If I check the box both my user name and
password are remembered. If I uncheck 'Remember Password' in Tools....Servers
Tab, then neither the user name nor the password are remembered when I next
Logon to Windows Mail. I can't persuade the system just to remember my user
name! There must be an anomaly somewhere but don't worry about replying.
Thanks.

No anomaly. That's the way it is and always has been.

Thanks - I'll give up trying on this one! As Hotmail & Outlook Express have
the facility to 'Remember User name' only, I would have thought the newer
Windows Mail would be the same.
