logging in to an access db

Well, I've been using Access for years and have never had to log in to a db.
But I've been given access to an access db with a login and password.
However, when I open the db, I get no prompt to log in. Is there some key
combination or menu path I need to use in order to get a log in screen?

Let me be more specific:

1) I'm using Access 2000.
2) My understanding is that when I open the db I should see a login screen
pop up.

I don't see a login screen pop up when I open it, and when I try to run any
query/report I get a message saying I don't have permission. So I assume I
need that login to pop up.

Ideas?
