Log On Welcome Screen

How can I skip the Welcome Screen and continue with the bootup. Some time
back , after a routine security update, this screen started popping up
requiring me to click my 'User Account' in order to continue the boot up. I
have no need for this.
 
control panel/user accounts/change the way users log on and off - remove the
check from 'use start-up screen'
 
When I do that, it reverts to a different style, asking for a password (which
if I just click ok, it boots on up without even entering anything anyway). I
want it to just boot all the way without me clicking anything!
BTW - this may be the first of a double post - please ignore the second one.
