I have two computers at home both run win XP-Pro one
starts with the win-xp screen in about 30 seconds. The
other, once you turn it ion give a message of the memory
in the CPU (1Gig)then dose a system check on the maching
looks for drive C and inspects the BIOS. After which the
win log on screen come on. The boot time is aprox 60 to 70
seconds.
Whay the diference in the log on procedure from one
machine to the other?
Is their a way to have this check done in the back ground
and just have the log on screen?
Your comments would be appreciated.

Your recomendation to look for a silent boot, can you
please be a bit more specific. Coment = I was looking up
silent boot in Google an it refers to quiet fan operation.
