log on failure

during log on my computer hangs up at appling security
protocalls and will not go any farther.... if I try to get
into safe mode it hangs up on mups.sys driver.....it seems
to do this only when it is critical to boot.... grins...
other times it works just fine... any ideas

Try booting to recovery console, & disable the mups.sys
