Log off to black screen

Hi,

I have a dell dimension 8400 (I believe) running windows xp sp2. Ever since
I reformatted and reinstalled windows, quite often when I switch users, the
screen goes black and stays that way until I totally shutdown and reboot.
I've already tried re-installing the driver for the monitor that dell
provided.

Any help on this subject would be appreciated.

Try the driver for the video card (?).
