Log Off Problem

I can no longer log off or turn off my computer from the Start menu. This
problem began the same day I installed the most recent round of security
updates and I'm wondering if there is a connection. Does anybody know how to
restore this function. My current work around for this problem is to bring
up Windows Task Manager with Ctrl-Shift-Esc, choose my user account and
click Log Off at the bottom of that dialog box. That takes me to the Welcome
Screen where I can then turn off my computer. There are 4 people using this
computer. 2 have told me they are having the same problem, the other hasn't
mentioned it.

Try a System Restore to a point right before you got the latest Update.
Go to Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore.

I tried to do a System Restore, but was unsuccessful. The message in the
dialog box said "System cannot be restored to this Restore Point." Guess
I'll try some of the steps at the website cited in the other e-mail.

This looks like a very helpful site. I'm going to try the 15 troubleshooting
steps. I already know that step 1 doesn't work.
