2 weeks back i bought new computer with genuine vista. i opened a user
account for myself, no other user registered and i am nnot aware of
administrator account being opened - when i used applications, the end
license agreement popped up all the time - i accessed help and following the
guidelines, i deactivated myself as a user - when i tried to acess my
computer again after shutdown, it denied access, 'user deactivated, contact
administrator' - the log on screen only provieds for 'other users' tab, but i
obviously do not have any other user detail or password, using the computer
alone. i doubt whether there is an administrator, since i opened the computer
out of the box and regsitered only myself as a user. i caanot use the
computer presently and do not know how to access again. any suggestions?

Hello,

Restart your computer in safe mode by pressing F8 repeatedly as your
computer is starting up (before you see the animated progress bar).

This will present you with a menu of boot options, from which you can
select safe mode.

There should be a hidden account made available to you called
'administrator' that you can use to log in with and fix your user accounts.
