Hello,

is it possible to log hardware changes such as a USB keyboard and/or mouse
being disconnected from a computer? does the event viewer show this?

I work in a College and some mice have "disappeared". I will like to know
whether it's possible to find out exactly when was disconnected, regardless
whether a user had logged on or not.

Cheers,

Johnny

AFAIK disconnecting a mouse would not be shown unless it was a ps/2
mouse while the computer was on. In that case, Event Viewer might show
an error message because ps/2 devices are only meant to be removed when
the computer is off.

So you'll need to do your detecting of the mouse thief in meatspace, not
on the computer. Sorry.

Thank you Malke,

Perhaps there is a software or a script you can run that monitors hardware
changes?

Cheers,

Fernando
