I can't tell you how sick of FP 2003 locking up on me I am. I am working on resizing the table on ONE page and I have that ONE page open and it has locked up 4 times. Naturally I have no time to save the most recent move. This is totally absurd
I have one other program open (outlook). Plenty of room on my HD and plenty of memory.

Plenty of room on your hard disk and plenty of memory aren't the only
factors. What kinds of "crap" (technical term) do you have running in the
background?

Try completely closing Outlook (not running in bg).

.....heard that 'technical term' before somewhere

Well outlook is the only open program- of course there is the virus and various annoying little things that won't let go. But really I haven't had anything else open to speak of all day although I guess Adobe Elements could hang on and not let go even tho its closed

Sorta absurd that FP is so resource hog that its got to be the only thing open. FP has been doing this lock up business on a pretty regular basis. Last time I did the 'repair' thing....hasn't helped.

I'll try it, but if Outlook is causing it to crash - thats a fairly fragile program (to put it mildly) and it doesn't make me happy.

Have you tried the usual repairs in the sequence below
(1 & 2 should always be done after any FP crash):

1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
Usually in
C:\Documents and Settings\<USER>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\FrontPageTempDir
(it's a super hidden folder so you won't see it unless you log in w/ another admin right user ID or use the CMD window)

2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files
Usually in C:\Documents and Settings\<USER>\Application Data\Microsoft\Web Server Extensions\Cache

3) In Windows Explorer Find and delete the file hidden file CMDUI.PRF
Usually in C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Application Data\Microsoft\FrontPage\State

4) Run a Repair on IE
(see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=318378 )

5) Install all Service Packs for your OS, IE, MS Office and your Video card
(Windows Update and Office Update sites, plus your video card supplier site)

6) Open FP and Disable or Uninstall any FP Addins,

7) Open your FP Web/Site and run a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks

I love Outlook, but sometimes I do have a problem with it running in the bg. especially if I'm also using other notorious memory hogs like Photoshop or Acrobat (sheesh it seems acrobat never gives back memory)
