lockout start button

Hi all,
trying to lockout right clicking start button so users cannot explore system
and mapped drives. I don't really want to lock users out from using the
taskbar quick launch and desktop toolbars but that is the only way I have
found so far to lockout right clicking the start button.
Any solutions

Hi Sher-

There is a setting for "Remove access to the context menus for the taskbar"
in the group policy location of User Configuration->Administrative
Templates->Start Menu and Taskbar which may do what you need. This is a
setting which Windows XP and Windows 2003 computers can process.

Also, the "Prohibit adjusting desktop toolbars" under User
Configuration->Administrative Templates->Desktop should help.

You can also restrict the ability of users to view, add or remove drives
(mapped or otherwise) from the settings located at User
Configuration->Administrative Templates->Windows Components->Windows
Explorer. Again, these are settings which would be Windows 2003 specific.

They would need to be set in a group policy linked to an OU the user's
account objects reside in, and the users would need to have the permissions
necessary to process and read the policy.

Please repost if this does not help.
